Ampro Pro Styl Olive Oil Gel: Initial Thoughts.......

 

This weekend I received the April curlBOX...Yay!  Yesterday was my wash day and I did my usual wash-n-go, but this time I decided to use sample products from the March and April curlBOX.

Products used:

• Hair  Rules Daily Cleansing Cream
• Hair Rules Quench Conditioner
• Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-in Condition (March curlBOX)
• Ampro Pro Styl Olive Oil Gel (April curlBOX)

Today I have firm curls but they do not have the extra crunchiness that Kinky Curly Curling Custard gives me.  The Ampro Pro Styl Olive Oil Gel looks similar to and has a thick consistency similar to Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel, but the Ampro Pro Styl Olive Oil Gel is slightly creamier than the Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel. I prefer the smell of the Ampro Pro Styl Olive Oil over the Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel. The Ampro Pro Styl Olive Oil Gel has neither a floral nor fruity smell but a slight perfume smell.

I feel my hair has no frizz using the Ampro Pro Styl Olive Oil Gel compared to using the Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel. During application the Ampro Pro Styl Olive Oil Gel appeared a bit creamy when it came into contact with the Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-in Conditioner.  This is my first time using this combination so I can't say if this creamy reaction will happen with most leave-in conditioners. In my opinion the Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel feels more sticky during application on soaking wet hair. I attribute the frizz I get when using the Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel to it's stickiness. 


I applied the Ampro Pro Styl Olive Oil Gel onto soaking wet hair and spritzed my hair during application to keep it very wet. This allows for the even distribution of product. Once application was complete you could still see white product on my hair but once my hair dried there wasn't any product visible, no residue, and no flakes. Once fully dry my hair does not look dull but has a bit of a sheen.  I suffer from hand in hair syndrome and it is good that this product does not leave my hair feeling greasy.  I can play in my hair and not have glistening grease on my fingers. As for shrinkage...Ampro Pro Styl Olive Oil Gel gives the same amount of shrinkage as both the Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel and KCCC.

For my initial thoughts....TWO THUMBS UP!
